How Winery Brands Can Stay Classic Without Feeling Stale

A winery does not need to reinvent its identity every time design trends change. But even a well-known brand can reach a point where its look no longer feels as considered as the experience behind it.

The goal is to know what people already recognize and give the brand room to grow.

Keep the parts people know

In 2020, we made a modest update to Grape Creek Vineyards’ brand. It did not call for a dramatic new identity. It needed a refresh that felt current while remaining familiar to the people who already knew the winery.

That distinction matters. A strong brand has elements people can spot and associate with a place they enjoy. Once those elements are clear, other parts of the visual identity can evolve without making the winery feel like a different brand.

Leave room for a little magic

Classic does not have to mean predictable. A touch of whimsy might appear in an illustration, a phrase, a package detail, or something a guest wants to wear. The right detail feels true to the winery and gives people another way to connect with it.

That connection goes beyond recognizing a logo. Guests choose the wine, wear the merch, bring friends, and feel like the winery is part of their story. Good brand design helps make that feeling visible.

At Clink, we help wineries find the identity worth keeping and the opportunities to make it feel fresh across the places guests encounter it. Explore our work with Grape Creek Vineyards, or let’s talk about where your brand could go next.
